13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, 14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— 16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. 17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
1 Peter 2:13–17

With only weeks left before the 2020 elections, it is imperative that we, as Christians, approach this time prayerfully and make sure that we prepare for full participation in the electoral process.  The issues and stated platforms of the candidates are of upmost importance and must be prayerfully considered before casting a vote.  The following is a list of daily prayer reminders that will serve in keeping us focused on the election, and lifting our country and leaders up in prayer.

  • Pray daily for discernment in making a biblical choice based on platform issues.
  • Pray daily for the candidates’ health and safety.
  • Pray daily for other governmental leaders.
  • Pray daily for our local leadership.
  • Pray daily that issues regarding sanctity of human life, freedom of religion, marriage &     sexuality, and human dignity & safety would be held to a biblical standard.
  • Pray daily for us as a nation to repent and experience true revival.
  • Pray daily that “the fear of the Lord” (Proverbs 1:7) would become the standard for the           mind-set of America.
  • Bring prayers of thanksgiving to the Lord for allowing us to live in a country where we can     pray.
